Elevating Spaces with Mirror Mapping and Exquisite Details

Designed by Ghih Hsiang Cheng, Graceful Reflection stands out as a unique and captivating residential apartment. With a focus on elegance and sophistication, this design showcases the seamless integration of mirror mapping and exquisite details to create a truly remarkable living space.

One of the challenges faced by the designer was the presence of a beam in the living room that needed to be hidden. To address this, Cheng simplified the decoration vocabulary and utilized black glass and yellow colored glass, along with marble and titanium-plated metal, to create an atmosphere of exquisite luster and tactile texture. This careful selection of materials injects an elegant ambiance into the space and expands the depth of field through the connection and extension of mirror mapping.

The use of mirror materials throughout the apartment blurs the boundaries of storage spaces and beam volumes, creating a sense of spaciousness and fluidity. The mirrors also serve to connect different areas of the apartment, allowing residents to observe and participate in the interaction of their families at any time. The exquisite luster of the mirror material adds a touch of luxury and elegance to the overall design.

In the public spaces, such as the living room and dining room, Cheng seamlessly integrates neoclassical symmetrical vocabulary with marble, yellow colored glass, and titanium-plated metal to create a space that exudes exquisite demeanor. The frame of black glass cleverly eliminates the sense of the beam's existence, while the use of hexagonal geometry in the dining room adds an additional layer of elegant texture.

In the private areas, such as the master bedroom and secondary bedroom, the design continues to impress. The master bedroom combines mirrors and chamois parados to maintain the symmetrical vocabulary and skillfully hide the windows. Additionally, one of the bathrooms has been transformed into a boutique-style dressing room for the secondary bedroom, catering to the residents' needs.

Graceful Reflection has garnered recognition for its exceptional design. In 2021, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.
